the UK standards site.
Another three great places to find teaching resources are:
- The Teacher Resource Exchange where you can find lots of different moderated resources to use in the classroom.
- The TES resources site - it has thousands of great resources - the nice thing about this site is that you can score and comment on resources, leaving others to show you which were great sites and which were resources you could just pass on by.
- RE online was site I discovered by mistake and I think it really does need bringing to the fore as it is really well written and contains all the information you would need in this area!
Where can I find free online report comments I could use in Religion?
Freeducation report comments have everything you need in this area. I took all my Christmas holidays to create all the comments and I really hope that they are appreciated.
The site gives you a link to some free software, and then it lets you download all the RE QCA units you need to complete each one of your reports. As you only choose the most relevant comments and everything is still completely editable, you can make personal reports in a fraction of the time most teachers do. I take about a day to complete all the reports on my 20 students.
How do you find teaching Religious Education?
I do enjoy teaching religious education. I once had a year 6 tell me 'Heaven is only a thought concept' which I still am impressed at. In our school we have a large muslim community, so they take their children off to only learn Islam, so the remainding children are taught all the other world faiths with me. We learn together about Jesus and discuss the moral issues behind it all. In Year 3 we still are allowed to feel awe and wonder at the size of the world and how complex it all is, and I enjoy letting them think about how Religious Education fits into their lives.
